Hart Avenue Pedestrianisation Scheme – Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

UDP International undertook the Pedestrianisation Scheme for Hart Avenue proposal to transform the existing area into an attractive place for the owners, residents and operators of Hart Avenue East. We incorporated an improvement initiative as part of the Area Improvement Plan for Tsim Sha Tsui that was undertaken by the Hong Kong Government. The proposal aims to elevate Hart Avenue from its current uses as a vehicular street with parking spaces, to a pedestrian-oriented great place. The proposal envisions Hart Avenue as an enjoyable and lively place for local residents and tourists for shopping, leisure, entertainment and festival activities under a safe, comfortable, pedestrian oriented and landscaped environment.

Hart Avenue East, given its location and spatial configuration, is the perfect place for creating a pedestrian gathering space suitable for different users at different times of day. This would be a place where seating and dining areas could be carved out, as well as a stage for music performances, street theatre and spaces for exhibitions, creating “Hart Place”.
