UDP Internationals Award winning Entry, ‘‘Re-Imagining Clark Green City’’ proposed an innovative and comprehensive master plan with a sensitive urban design and place making approach with a focus on “People Place and Planet” to ensure that Clark Green City (CGC) will be well positioned in relation to Clark International Airport and to Metro-Manila, adding long term value to the people, the region and the country.
Our vision for CGC was to create a new class of urban environment for the Philippines; ambitiously combining context sensitive planning, urban design and place-making to ensure socially equitable development, sustainable building standards and a smart way to use technology. The master plan applies principles for sustainable development on every level; from regional level to district level to individual building scale to human scale for the people of CGC.UDP International’s context-sensitive and sustainable approach resulted in the Second Place Award for the competition. The following guiding principles are proposed to underpin key design decisions of the new city:
1. Context-Rich
2. Transit-Oriented Development
3. Walkable & Cycle Friendly
4. A Green City
5. A Sustainable Community
6. Economic Flywheel
7. A Resilient District
8. A Home For All
9. Clear Governance
10. Smart Phasing
11. Financial Viable
12. An Inclusive City
